Sites that return error 404

The alert is guaranteed when the destination site returns error 404 or 410, the standard way for a site to say the page no longer exists.

A domain that no longer exists and a site that does not respond also trigger the alert, after three checks in a row without an answer over a few hours, so a short outage does not become an alarm.

Sites that do not return an error

When the page disappears and the site sends visitors to its home page or shows a page titled "not found", pqno.app recognizes the sign and alerts you, but there is no way to guarantee every site behaves like that.

Sites that block automated checks or that build the page only in the browser, which is common on social networks and some stores, do not let anyone find out from outside whether the content is gone, so for them you check by opening the link.

When the check happens

• On every plan, when someone opens the link, at most once an hour.
• On Pro and Business, also once a day for every link.
• Right after you create a link or change its destination.

What you get

• A bell alert and an e-mail when the link goes down, with the reason.
• The "Down" badge in your link list and a filter to see only those links.
• A daily reminder until you change the destination or delete the link.
