Delete a link

Permanently delete a link and its click records.

Deletes the link identified by the id query parameter. Use HTTP DELETE. The operation is permanent.

What deletion removes

  • The short URL stops redirecting to its destination.
  • Click records are removed from link statistics and the account summary.
  • QR codes saved for this link are deleted.
  • A printed QR code containing this short URL stops opening the destination, including QR codes created for access tracking.

To change only the destination while preserving the short URL, use Update a link.

A personal token can delete its issuer's links. A company token can delete links created by anyone in that company.

Response and repeated requests

HTTP 200 confirms deletion and returns the deleted ID in dados.id. A link that does not exist, has already been deleted, or is outside the token's scope returns 404.

Repeating the request after a successful deletion returns 404 on the second request.
